| About Beyondjazz |
What is Beyondjazz? Beyondjazz is a future jazz community, focusing on the exciting sounds of broken beats, future jazz and space funk. We’re a bunch of enthousiasts and friends.
|
Beyondjazz.net The website / community you're now visiting. Here we discuss new music, artists, parties ... We chose to divide Beyondjazz.net into 4 big sections. Eyes, Feet, Ears & Mouth.
Eyes, Feet & Ears contain articles & posts from the site crew, and Mouth is the section where you can drop your own thoughts. Here you can talk about whatever you want. You know what a forum is, right? :). |
Beyondjazz.Dj's A team of several dj's - most of them located in Belgium – spreading the future jazz vibe out there. We’ve done guestmixes on radioshows like BrokenBeatRadio, Offtrack, played venues like Charlatan (Gent, BE), Tijuana (Gent, BE) and more … |
Beyondjazz.Radioshow Lennart, Chris & Oemebamo host a weekly 2hour radioshow on Urgent Radio. We’re live on FM & on the internet, and the show is archived and available on demand via Beyondjazz.net. |
Beyondjazz.Parties Once in a while, we set up our own clubnights. We had David Borsu doing a live gig and our beyondjazz dj's like Spectrum, DaQuan, Lensco, Oemebamo, Citrus, Yiannis treating the crowd to some tasty cuts. |
Beyondjazz.Productions Apart from discussing other people's music, some of us & our members produce too ... We promote these new kids out there by putting out the infamous Beyondjazz.net Samplers and giving them a place to be heard ... |

| Rules |
Language Beyondjazz is mostly in English. We think this is the most universal language, so that way we try to keep things worldwide. This site isn't - and probably won't become - available in other languages. |
Posting Guidelines CAPS LOCK is for losers.
It's nice if you say hello when you're new here.
When starting a new topic, be sure to check if there isn't already a topic on that matter.

File sharing Requests A delicate issue, with lots of different opinions that can cause and have caused heated discussions. That’s why we decided not to allow requests for the illegal sharing of music. Discussions about the issue are of course welcomed. In fact, there already have been quite a few. Read more here. |

| Login and Registration Issues |
Why Do I Need to register? As a guest you can read all the artices and discussions on beyondjazz.net. However, if you want to join in and chat with us, we ask you to register. Registration will also give you access to additional features not available to guest users such as definable avatar images, private messaging, emailing to fellow users, usergroup subscription, etc. It only takes a few minutes to register so it is recommended you do so. Thanks. |
I've lost my password! Don't panic! While your password cannot be retrieved, it can be reset. To do this go to the login page and click "I've forgotten my password". Follow the instructions and you should be back online in no time. |

| User Preferences and settings |
How do I change my settings? Once registered you can change a few options in your profile. All your settings are stored in the database. To alter them open the drop down menu at the top right and choose “edit my profile”. This will allow you to change all your settings, including the digest subscriptions. |
The times are not correct! The times are almost certainly correct; however, what you may be seeing are times displayed in a timezone different from the one you are in. If this is the case, you should change your profile setting for the timezone to match your particular area, e.g. London, Paris, New York, Sydney, etc. Please note that changing the timezone, like most settings, can only be done by registered users. So if you are not registered, this is a good time to do so, if you pardon the pun!
If you are sure you have set the timezone correctly and the time is still different, the most likely answer is daylight savings time (or summer time as it is known in the UK and other places). The board is not designed to handle the changeovers between standard and daylight time so during summer months the time may be an hour different from the real local time. |

| Posting Issues |
How do I post a topic in a forum? Easy -- click the relevant button on either the forum or topic screens. You may need to register before you can post a message. Unless you are a site crewmember you cannot post a new topic in the categories of “Eyes”, “Feet” or “Ears”. However, if you want to suggest us an event for those forums, you can always use the form at the bottom of those pages. |
How do I edit or delete a post? You can only edit or delete your own posts. Please note that normal users cannot delete a post once someone has replied. |
Why can't I access a forum? Some forums may be limited to certain users or groups. |
What are Locked topics? Locked topics are set this way by either the forum moderator or board administrator. You cannot reply to locked topics and any poll contained inside is automatically ended. Topics may be locked for many reasons. Eg. When a topic about that subject already exists, or if the message is no more relevant. |
Self promotion Self promotion is fine and we'd like to hear from your activities, but don't use this site just to post your promo texts. That smells like spam. |
 |
| Formatting your messages |
What is BBCode? All info on that matter can be found on www.phpbb.com |
Can I use HTML in my posts? Yes, you can, but you will find only certain tags work. This is a safety feature to prevent people from abusing the board by using tags which may destroy the layout or cause other problems. You can disable it on a per post basis from the posting form. |
 |
| Extra functionalities |
Now Playing? When you make a post in the general forums, there’s a field where you can add what you are listening to at that moment. It will be shown below the post and on your profile. If you want to change it, you should go back to the post where you attached it to. |
